Description/Job Summary

Vonachen Group, a leading Midwest supplier of industrial and janitorial services, is looking for an Accountant to work in the Peoria, IL, office with periodic travel to key customer locations in IL and KY.  This position will invoice customers, monitor daily labor costs utilizing computer and manual time records across multiple customers, and provide financial analysis for operations and external customers.  In addition, this position will work with operations to analyze and prepare monthly/quarterly presentations for key customers.   

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Prepare, verify, and process weekly and monthly invoices and purchase orders; this includes customer who have mandated portals for which they receive invoices
  • Maintain accounting databases and spreadsheets, updating information as needed
  • Communicate with clients and customers to request and arrange payments
  • Post customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions and entering them into the general ledger or accounting software
  • Updating client accounts based on payment or contact information
  • Create job numbers when new positions are established
  • Input and update labor budget hours by job to compare actual vs. budgeted at the end of each month
  • Create reports and balance sheets that document overall profits and losses
  • Obtain necessary contact information to determine how the customer will be billed
  • Daily reconciliation of all Vonachen Group companies accounts receivable ledgers to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted
  • Track states sales, payroll, city/county and unemployment tax and remit tax money to the appropriate state

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 0 -2 years of related work experience 
  • Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Excel including pivot tables
  • Ability to clearly communicate financial information orally and in writing to people at different levels across the organization

Details

  • Normal office hours Monday through Friday with occasional additional time in the evening and on weekends as workload dictates
  • $50,000 - $55,000 annual salary with benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, 401(k), STD, LTD, and vacation/holiday pay
