Vonachen Services Inc, a Vonachen family company, is looking for Skilled Utility Team Members working onsite at multiple facilities across the Central IL area. The payrate for this position is $18.00-$21.00 per hour.
A Skilled Utility team member is responsible for operating industrial power equipment as needed to complete assigned tasks. This person is also responsible for preventative maintenance and minor repairs on designated tools and equipment. A Skilled Utility team member must have mechanical aptitude, experience with handheld power tools and motorized equipment, and be able to identify equipment that is not working properly. This person is responsible for providing high quality service levels, adhering to company policies, and assisting to provide a safe working environment.
Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Run a sweeper/scrubber to clean factory floors
- Concrete polishing
- Machine cleaning
- Painting experience (line striping)
- Safely operate a forklift
- Operate industrial powered vehicles (e.g., golf carts or Gators)
- Operate aerial lifts to perform tasks above safe reach of a ladder (e.g., scissor lift, articulating lift)
- Operate, pneumatic, battery powered and electric hand tools
- Assist in the performance of building/equipment maintenance duties (e.g., light-duty construction, fabrication, recycling, painting, filter changes, fabrication machinery support, and coolant services)
- Maintain preventive maintenance program for designated list of equipment (e.g., powered vehicles, power tools, hand-held tools/equipment
- Perform minor repairs to designated equipment to minimize downtime and repair costs
- Maintain a safe work environment following all required safety regulations and protocols
- Complete other duties as assigned
Skills Required
Skills and Abilities
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must have reliable transportation
- Ability to comprehend and follow instructions, either orally or in writing
- Must follow all health and safety requirements
- Good communication skills
- Customer-oriented and friendly
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED is preferred
- Successfully pass training: Lock-Out-Tag-Out, Confined Spaces, Aerial Lifts, Forklift, Gator/Cart, Fall Protection, PPE, and Bloodborne Pathogens
Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk for long periods of time; climb stairs
- Repeat the same movements
- Frequent bending and twisting
- Able to lift, push & pull 50lbs
- Work at heights to 40 feet
- Able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
Additional Details
- FULL TIME schedule. Shift will vary due to project schedules
- Availability to work out of town and overnight on occasion
- Pay range $18-$21/hr
