Vonachen Group is looking to fill a Network Administrator position in Peoria, IL. The Network Administrator will provide support focused on the maintenance and development of the network, leading or assisting on various projects in the IT department, while also providing general support to the IT Department and Vonachen Group employees.
Responsibilities
Network Infrastructure: Maintain and develop network infrastructure which supports the company data and voice communication needs and meets any potential growth or changes to operations.Operating Environment: Assist in the development and maintenance of an operating environment which delivers the applications and functionality users require while maintaining the reliability and availability standards deemed critical/essential by management. This includes reviewing and evaluating technologies and providing recommendations for enhancements.
Security: Assist in the maintenance of security protocols for the network while recommending improvements to protocols and processes.
Technology Trends: Monitor general technology trends and industry uses of technology in order to plan for the integration of new, emerging, and established solutions into the operational structure.
Training: Provide technology orientations for staff.
Maintenance: Perform hands-on troubleshooting, set-ups, and maintenance as required.
Customer Service: Provide help desk support to users in a friendly, prompt, helpful manner at all times.
Other duties as assigned: Providing backup for the IT Director and assist in other areas as required.
Skills Required
Incumbent should have a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a technology support environment and 10 + years of related experience.Required technical skills include experience with the following:
Active Directory
Group Policy
Microsoft Exchange
VMware
Veeam
Network routing and switching
SAN storage management
Help Desk management
Required competencies include:
Experience evaluating technology solutions, especially large scale applications and mobile technology. Applicant should be familiar with systems networking, telecommunications, file servers, desktops, laptops, multiple operating systems, Internet services provisioning, security systems, and audio/visual integration, disaster avoidance and recovery planning. Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to effectively present information to staff, management and public groups. The ability to interact with executive-level leadership as well as line staff and to work independently and take personal initiative.
