We are currently seeking an energetic and highly motivated individual to join our team as a General Cleaner in Des Moines, IA. The ideal candidate for this position is detail-oriented, flexible and has reliable transportation. A General Cleaner is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing various spaces which could include offices, meeting rooms, bathrooms, kitchen, medical exam rooms, locker rooms, and public areas.
Responsibilities
- Clean and supply designated building areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, restroom cleaning, etc)
- Gather and empty trash
- Stock and maintain supply rooms
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and equipment
- Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment
- Follow all health and safety regulations
Skills Required
- No janitorial experience required, we provide on the job training
- Successful candidates will have strong attention to detail, be flexible on occasion and are able to work independently
- Able to meet physical requirements, such as lifting, bending and standing for duration of shift
- Must be able to pass pre-employment requirements as needed.
Additional Details
$16.00 / hour, Full Time.
Janitor shifts are 7:00am-7:00pm and 7:00pm-7:00am. Rotating shifts with part time hours are available.
Paid vacation, attendance notice, paid mileage if applicable. Sweeping, moping, use of cleaning chemicals, pulling trash, driving a golf cart, working in a non-controlled environment. Cleaning bathrooms and breakrooms throughtout the shift. Candidate must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and walking for 4 hours or more. Candidate must demonstrate a positive attitude and attention to detail. Self motivated and works well as a team and individually.
At the end of 90 days of employement an "earned attendance bonus" will be calculated and paied in the next pay period.
