DSI (Diversified Services for Industry), a Vonachen Family company, is looking to fill a laborer position in a heavy industrial facility in Davenport, IA. Job duties include, but are not limited to keeping the facility clean, orderly and functioning properly. Duties may include heavy cleaning (washing walls, recycling, removing trash hampers), HVAC maintenance, paint system maintenace, fabrication machine cleaning and maintenace. Additional duties may also include forklift operation, lift operation, high powered blaster operation, painting and grounds keeping.
Responsibilities
1st shift primary duties: HVAC filter changing, recycling, dunnage breakdown, wash booth cleaning, laser dust/shot blast disposal, general factory cleaning, yellow fixture painting (guardrails, parking stops, etc), spill response and disinfecting efforts.
2nd shift primary duties: Paint system maintenance and cleaning, recycling, floor painting utilizing a striping machine, pressure washing and blasting, general factory cleaning, HYDEF/OXY/laser cleaning and slate changing, laser dust/shot blast disposal, spill responses and disinfecting efforts.
3rd shift primary duties: Lifting operations from gallery to factory floor, heavy factory cleaning including walls, colums and fans, laser dust/shot blast disposal, spill response and disinfecting efforts.
Skills Required
1st shift desired skills: Forktruck operation, general knowledge of HVAC operations, lock out/tag out, knowledge of cleaning machinery, experience with painting utilizing brushes and rollers.
2nd shift desired skills: Knowledge of paint booth operation, knowledge of pressure washer/pressure blasting equipment, knowledge of paint machines, forklift operation, comfortable working at height, lock out/tag out, working in a confined space, factory cleaning.
3rd shift desired skills: Knowledge of crane and lift operations, forklift operation, scissor lift operation, JLG operation, comfortable working with heights, lock out/tag out, general knowledge of machinery cleaning.
Ability to quickly learn the layout of the plant, and extreme care for safety in driving and operating the fork truck is paramount. Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills, as well as comfort working in an environment which may have large temperature variation, will be important. Comfort with repetitive and physical work is very important. Employees may be required to lift up to 50 pounds and will be required to stand, sit, stoop and bend throughout the day. Experience is preferred, but we will also train.
Additional Details
This is for a floater position and will be required to be available to work all three shifts. The pay for this position is $17.00/hr.
Work shifts are M-F. 1st shift is 6am-2pm, 2nd shift is 2pm-10pm, 3rd shift is 10pm-6am.
